A: If you're thinking about registering more than one domain
name, you've got the right idea. Registering and using multiple
domains names is great for building your business and can help you
create a dynamic online identity.
When you register multiple domain names, you can:
- Keep your competition from registering a
domain name that draws customers to them instead of you.
- Promote the different products and services
you offer.
- Drive more traffic to your Web site.
- Enjoy more opportunities to market to - and
be listed in - search engines.
- Create distinct advertising strategies that
reach different target markets.
- Provide customers more ways to find you when
searching the Internet.
- Capture common misspellings of your domain
name, instead of sending visitors to an error page.
- Protect your brand and online identity from
those who may have unsavory purposes.

A: BEWARE! If you mask your domain you may not be
able to login to your back offices either with YTB or Vacation
Media. It seems to prevent the user to be able to login to any
website. The only way to achieve this is to bookmark your back
offices to your favorites. This way if you want to login to your
back office you will need to use your regular url address to do
this.
Example links shown below:
- YTB Marketing Site
http://www.ytb.com/Login.aspx?wa=
- YTB Travel Site
http://www.ytbtravel.com/Login.aspx?wa=
- Vacation Media Site
http://youraccount.vacationmedia.net/admin/login.php
Masking works with domain name forwarding, which
redirects all Web traffic for a domain to a specified URL. When
someone enters your domain name into a browser, our system
automatically forwards or redirects them to the URL. However, with
masking, the domain name displayed in the address bar does not
change.
Forwarding with Masking prevents visitors from
knowing that they have been redirected by retaining your domain name
in their Web browser's address bar. You can also add a title and
meta tags to your masked domain. Title and meta tag information is
important to a Web site’s search engine ranking, but it does not
change the look of your Web site.
To Add Masking to Your Domain Name Forwarding in
the Domain Control Center
- Log in to your Account Manager.
- From the Domain Names menu, select
Manage Domains. The Domain Control Center opens.
- In your list of domain names, select the
checkbox next to the domain name(s) you want to forward.
- Click Forward.
- In the Domain Forwarding
section, select Enable.
- In the Forward To field,
enter the URL you want to forward your domain name(s) to.
- In the Redirect Type area,
select one of the following:
- 301
- Redirects to the site you specified in the Forward To
field using a "301 Moved Permanently" HTTP response. The
HTTP 301 response code tells user-agents (including search
engines) that the location has permanently moved.
- 302
- Redirects to the site you specified in the Forward To
field using a "302 Found" HTTP response. The HTTP 302
response code tells user-agents (including search engines)
that the location has temporarily moved.
- On the Masking tab, select
Mask Domain.
- Enter a Masked Title and
Meta Tags in the appropriate fields.
- Click OK.

A: YTB's Legal Department insists that the only change you can
make to any emails is the day it sends out. All emails are a direct
representation of the YTB Network. Allowing people to create their
own emails that contain false information could cause harm to YTB
and the agent. If you have an email that you think would be a great
addition to our email selection, you must email
Ted Lindauer at

A: Introduction to Whitelisting
It used to be that when you sent out an email, it was always
delivered. Then along came spammers, and everything changed. Email
companies (ISPs) were forced to come up with a solution to
preventing their users from being bombarded with unwanted emails.
Most of these ISPs have their own proprietary spam filtering
services for their customers. Sometimes these services work well,
but other times, they block emails that you WANT to read, simply
because their blocking formulas are not perfect.
We have a great relationship with the ISPs because we are CANSPAM
compliant and have a zero tolerance for spam. However, there are so
many built in filters that it's a smart idea to whitelist our email
address.
When you whitelist an email address, you are telling the Email
company that you trust email coming from this source, and they know
to deliver it to your inbox.
Whitelist Instructions
Below are instructions from several key ISPs on how to
whitelist our email address with them.
You should whitelist our entire domain (vacationmedia.net) if
